The interiors of all 302 carriages in their electric 225 fleet are being totally rebuilt and refitted as part of the transformation into Mallards. They boast enhanced levels of comfort throughout and improved engineering ensures a smoother ride and a quieter environment. Every aspect of passenger wellbeing and convenience has been considered.

The first Mallard train was launched by Her Majesty the Queen on October 9, 2003 at King’s Cross station. The remainder of the fleet will enter passenger service on a rolling basis.
