Fly
to Darwin, be transferred to the Crowne Plaza Darwin for three nights.
Monday
Morning to relax, prior to joining a city sights tour this
afternoon for the perfect introduction to Darwin, with expert commentary
by a local guide. See the Chinese Temple and the lush Botanical Gardens.
Tour the historic sites of the city including the East Point Military
Precinct. See the Stokes Hill Wharf area and the Mooring Basin. There
is also time available to explore the Museum and Art Gallery of the
Northern Territory.
Tuesday
Free day in Darwin, to explore our tropical city of the North,
many outdoor cafe's and pub's, along with a varied selection of fine
dinning. Or join an optional tour to World Heritage listed Kakadu
National Park ($155pp plus Park fee's).
Wednesday
Join the Ghan, traveling Gold Kangaroo Service, for the only
North - South Transcontinental Train journey in the World. Pausing
in Katherine, where you have the opportunity to cruise through Nitmiluk
National Park. Continue mid afternoon to Alice Springs.
Thursday
On arrival in Alice Springs, travel south through the James
and Waterhouse ranges. Visit a camel farm where there is time for
an optional camel ride (own expense). Stop at Mt Ebenezer roadhouse
for lunch (own expense) and Mt Connor prior to arrival at Ayers Rock
Resort. This evening dine under a million stars at the award winning
Sounds of Silence Dinner. Two nights Desert Gardens Hotel
Friday.
Morning to free to relax, prior to joining an afternoon tour of Ayers
Rock, visiting the Uluru-Kata Juta Cultural Centre, the various water
holes & art sites of Uluru, along with Sunset nibles and a glass
of wine from the Sunset viewing area.
Saturday
Witness the early morning light as you travel to Kata Juta
to enjoy a 2-3 hour stroll between the valleys of conglomerate rock.
The walking path is rocky and requires a good level of fitness. In
the cool of the morning, marvel at the unique flora & flora that
has survived in this harsh enviroment. Once at the Valley of the Winds
lookout, take time to gaze out over the central valley of the Olgas.
After lunch join an afternoon flight to Cairns. ( not included, check
price at time of booking ). Met at Cairns airport and transfered to
the Holiday Inn Cairns on the Esplande for three nights. ( Alternative
touring available if unsuitable for Olgas Valley of Winds tour )
Sunday
The beauty of the Great Barrier Reef is yours to experience
when you cruise from Cairns to the three level luxury plontoon on
the Outer Barrier Reef. The plontoon features undercover seating and
table for a sumptusous buffet lunch. After lunch enjoy the outer reef
in glass bottom semi submersibles, snorkeling or diving. Maybe just
enjoy the sundeck.
Monday
Morning transfer to Freshwater station to board the Kuranda
Scenic Railway, on arrival in Kuranda there is free time to explore
the 'Village in the Rainforest". After enjoying the journey down
the escarpment in the Skyrail through the rainforest canopy take a
short walk to the famous Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, discover
this ancient culture through theatres, stage shows and demonstrations
before boarding your coach for the transfer back to the Holiday Inn.
Tuesday
Early transfer to Cairns station for the two day one night
rail experience on the famous Sunlander, travelling the Coral Coast
to Brisbane in the luxury of Queenslader Class, where all meals are
included.
Wednesday
Continue down the Queensland coast through the many cane
fields and Pacific Coast, arrive Brisbane late afternoon, before early
evening flight home, transfer not included.
